Facebook started testing its Premium Video Ad model in 2013, as a way of enabling advertisers to drive their branding objectives in other people’s News Feeds. But the video ads aren't the “game changer” that some had predicted, and advertisers shouldn’t expect Facebook users to go wild when they see them.
‘La La La (Brazil 2014)’ topped the chart of the most shared global video ads of July 2014, the same month that it beat Volkswagen’s ‘The Force’ to become the most shared ad of all time. The Shakira/Activia commercial is also the most successful example of a brand capitalising on the growing trend of ‘trackvertising’.

World Cup ads predictably dominated last month's most shared video ads. With the biggest sporting event on the planet in full swing, it's no surprise to see almost half of the top 20 ads of the month are football-related. Just like last month, Colombian pop princess Shakira's collaboration with yoghurt brand Activia "La La La" leads the way.
Just where is the line between music video and full-blown ad? If last month’s most shared video ads are anything to go by, it’s a question we are going to be asking more and more this year. Strutting its stuff in the number one spot is a video that could equally be argued as either - “La La La Brazil 2014”, from Danone and Shakira.
This month’s top 20 most shared video ad chart is dominated by ads which celebrate all things heroic - from the unsung superstars from our everyday lives to the modern day idols which dominate popular culture. Standing proudly at the front is an ad which celebrates the people who do the hardest job in the world.
